Chunking cuts a sentence into blocks; intonation is the melody your voice plays on top of them. Pitch only moves on the spotlight word - everything before it runs flat and low. Every chunk but the last climbs, to say "not finished yet." The last chunk's direction depends on what kind of sentence it is.
